     We are pleased to announce that the Microbiological Laboratory of J.S. Hamilton Hungaria Kft. on the 16th of November 2016 received the accredited status by the National Accreditation Authority (NAH) under the registration number NAH-1-1801/2016 and was registered until 15th November, 2021.


Besides being a Full Member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), the National Accreditation Authority (NAH) has also received the subscription right and has signed the Multilateral Agreement (EA MLA) of the European Accreditation (EA), so the analyses of the Microbiological Laboratory are accepted not only in Hungary but also abroad.


The National Food Chain Safety Office has licensed the operation of the Microbiological Laboratory on the 27th June, 2016 under the registration number 131/2016/Lab/NÉBIH.

J.S. Hamilton Poland S.A. laboratories apply a wide range of analytical methods for analyses of FCM:

Overal migration (OML)

Overal migration tests are performed for all simulants and under a broad range of test conditions depending on the intended use of the FCM.

The following simulant liquids are involved: 

  • distilled water
  • 10% ethanol
  • 3% acetic acid
  • 20% ethanol
  • 50% ethanol
  • vegetable oil
  • isooctane
  • 95% ethanol
  • poly(2,6-diphenyl-p-phenylene oxide) - MPPOTenax ®

We provide accredited methods in accordance with PN-EN 1186 for overall migration testing.

Specific migration (SML)

The specific migration - determination of content of such residual substances in migration solutions, in specified test conditions using selected food simultants. These analyses are performed with accredited methods by means of gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and other.

Sensory analysis

Sensory analysis of packaging is to assess the impact of packaging material / container for the smell and taste of the food. Research carried out by means of sense organs enable the fastest to evaluate the effect of packaging on the quality of its content, they can first demonstrate an adverse effect (or lack of such effects) of substances contained in the package for packaged food.

Microbiological tests

Microbiological tests of packaging materials and ready packages for total count of bacteria, molds and yeast and other pathogens in all types of packaging.

Determination of heavy metals Pb, Cd, Hg, Cr

Determination of heavy metals in accordance with the requirements of Directive 94/62/EC (manufacturers of packagings are obliged to reduce content of heavy metals in theirproducts).

Other analysis

  • primary aromatic amines migration,
  • phtalates content,
  • resistance to sweat and saliva,
  • volatiles compounds (VOC),
  • peroxydes content
