ROHS – electronic and electrical equipment product and packaging

J.S. Hamilton Poland Sp.z o.o. laboratory provides accredited ROHS testing services for electrical and electronic equipment in compliance with Directive 2011/65/EU.


Directive 2011/65/EU restricts the use of certain hazardous substances such as:


  • lead
  • cadmium
  • mercury
  • hexavalent chromium
  • polybrominated biphenyls(PBB)
  • polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)


J.S. Hamilton laboratories carry out ROHS testings with accredited methods including:


  • XRF screening identify the presence of RoHS substances in their elemental form at high output
  • spectrometry (LC/ICP/MS) and chromatography (GC-MS) – used in case elements like Pb, Br, Cd, Cr, Hg are detected by screening method or their presence is close to the limit. This analysis allows to determined content of Pb, Cr (VI), Hg, Cd and PBB, PBDE.


We also offer accredited test methods for the analysis of phthalates content in compliance with Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863:


  • Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)
  • Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP)
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
  • Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP)
