We measure the concentration of flammable vapours and gases in confined spaces such as ship cargo tanks, onshore tanks and other tanks or confined spaces where concentrations of toxic or flammable vapours and gases hazardous to life or health may exist.
On the basis of the measurements taken, we issue Gas Free Certificates.
GAS FREE measurements are carried out as standard in order to:
- ensure safe entry into an enclosed space without breathing apparatus
- provide safe access to a degassed confined space for cold and hot work
- the safe execution of cold work
- the safe execution of hot work.
Our inspectors are certified to have received training in monitoring the concentration of flammable vapours and gases in confined spaces in accordance with the IMO.
Measurements are performed with the latest PS500 five-gas detector.
